Figures produced by the financial and calculation tools on this site, including but not limited to the Office Life Calculator (formerly Calc Lab), are estimates based on the assumptions you enter. They do not constitute investment, financial, tax, legal or any other professional advice. Actual results are affected by market movements, changes in interest rates and your own circumstances. Please consult a qualified professional before making any financial decision.

The labour pension contribution, annual leave, overtime pay and severance pay calculators under the Office Life Calculator are likewise estimates from the assumptions you enter, and are not legal or employment law advice. The actual amounts are whatever your employer, the Bureau of Labor Insurance or the competent authority determines, and these figures should not be used as the basis or as evidence in an employment dispute.

3. Accuracy of data

Some tools, such as the Taiwan ZIP Code Lookup, use official or third party public data. We keep that data as current as we can, but there may be a lag behind the latest announcements, so the competent authority or the official source should be treated as definitive.

4. Device testing and image tools

• The mouse, keyboard and sound tests in Device Tester only show the events your browser reports, or play a test tone through your speakers, and the result is affected by your browser, your operating system, your audio hardware and other software. It is not a hardware testing instrument, and it is not a hearing test. A result is not a verdict that a device is faulty or healthy, and it is not advice about repair, purchase or health. Turn your volume down before you start the sound test: playing test tones loudly or for a long time can damage your hearing.
• The ID document watermark in Pixel Smith Image Tools adds a visual mark to an image. It does not guarantee that a copy of your document cannot be misused, that the watermark cannot be removed, or that the image cannot be altered, and it is not a security or anti-counterfeiting guarantee of any kind.
• Pixelation (mosaic) and blur in Pixel Smith's Blur, pixelate or add text tool rewrite the pixels in the covered area, but they do not guarantee that what they cover can no longer be recognised: at low strength, especially with blur, the original outline may still show, so zoom in and check before you share. The feature is not a de-identification guarantee of any kind either.
• Blur in Pixel Smith's Photo Editor is for looks: it does not guarantee that anything becomes unrecognisable and is not meant for hiding faces, number plates, phone numbers or ID numbers, for which you should use Blur, pixelate or add text. Its cloud save is not a backup service: an account unused for 180 days is deleted together with its projects, so keep your own copies of photos that matter.
