36 workplace units · TOEIC 200 to 990 · Chinese interface

  • Workplace units along one route
  • TOEIC, IELTS and TOEFL style mock tests
  • Built for Chinese-speaking learners

No sign-up and nothing to install. After Pocket Word King, tools with an English interface come first, and the ones in Chinese are labelled.

  • 9tool sites
  • 56distinct tools
  • 5languages

9 tool sites plus 3 tools on this site, 56 distinct tools in all. How we count: a tool counts once whatever its languages, all QR code content types count once, and Kaomoji Garden's collections are not counted. The 5 languages are Traditional Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Simplified Chinese, and each site supports a different set.

The stage shows a single tool at a time. Every tool site is also written up in full further down.

The standards first

Why use Pocketool

The 9 tool sites do different jobs, but they all follow the same four rules. Each rule comes with a source you can check.

Free, no sign-up

Get the job done first, then decide whether to come back

Every tool on this page works without an account. A few optional extras need a Google sign-in, and none of them blocks the main job.

Sources The sign-in extras: syncing practice records in English Shadowing, submitting and syncing emoji combos in Kaomoji Garden, cloud save in the Pixel Smith Photo Editor, and keeping progress, settings and mock test scores in Pocket Word King. Without a sign-in, Pocket Word King progress lasts until you close the tab. Read the privacy policy

Your data stays in your browser

If it does not need to leave your device, it stays there

Most tools for text, lists, addresses, photos and device tests do their work in your browser. Where a tool does send something, its page says so.

Sources The ZIP code lookup and the address translator run in your browser. Downloads from Pixel Smith's ID copy watermark, Blur, pixelate or add text and Photo Editor carry no EXIF or GPS data, and the Photo Editor uploads a project only if you sign in and save it. Device Tester asks for the mic and camera only after you press Start, and the sound and picture are not uploaded. Pages still load Google Analytics and ads. See how each tool handles data

Official data, with sources

Not just an answer, but where it came from

Taiwan ZIP codes and addresses come from Chunghwa Post. Overtime and severance results are tested against Taiwan's Ministry of Labor calculators. Emoji follow Unicode and CLDR. Passport photo sizes cite government pages.

Sources Chunghwa Post 3+3 ZIP code system V2602_260427 (released 2026-04-27); 11,149 test cases from the Ministry of Labor's official calculators; Unicode Emoji and CLDR; passport photo sizes for the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia and Taiwan, checked against 7 government pages on 2026-09-29. See the passport photo sources

Kept up to date

Every release and article is dated

Each release is logged with its date and version. Articles show their date, plus an updated date when the content changes. When a tool cannot do something, it says so.

Sources Latest release on 2026-10-16: 15 releases, including Office Life Calculator v0.36.1, Office Life Calculator v0.36.0 and Office Life Calculator v0.35.0. See the changelog (in Chinese)

Device Tester

Shows the mouse, keyboard, sound, mic and webcam signals your browser receives or plays, without pretending to diagnose hardware.

See the gap between clicks, clicks per second, and the key and code of every press. Play the left and right channels or a frequency sweep, watch your mic level and play back a short clip, and preview your webcam at the resolution the browser really gets. The mic and webcam ask for permission only after you press Start, and the sound and picture are not uploaded. The sound test only plays sound and is not a hearing test.

How the tools are made

Free, ready to use and respectful of your privacy. Tools say where their data comes from, what they assume and what they cannot do. Text, lists, addresses, photos and test data stay in your browser whenever they can.

The English pages are written for English readers with AI tools, following the editorial policy. Where an English page and its Chinese version disagree, the Chinese page is the reference.

Changelog

Latest releases

Every release is logged with its date and version. The summaries here are in English; the full log is in Chinese.

  1. Office Life Calculatorv0.36.1Two fixes for people using a keyboard or a screen reader. On the leave calculator's category tabs and the tax calendar's view switch, moving between options with the arrow keys in Safari left no focus ring at all, so there was no way to see where the focus had gone; the ring is back, and clicking with a mouse still does not draw one. The other fix is the date fields: anyone who filled in the month and day first and then typed the year digit by digit saw a wrong conclusion flash up while the year read 1 or 11, which a screen reader would read aloud. A year that is still being typed and is shorter than three digits now counts as unfinished, and the page waits until it is complete.
  2. Office Life Calculatorv0.36.0A new calculator for pensions under the old labour-standards scheme. Enter a birth date, a hire date, a retirement date and one month of average wages, and it works out the units Article 55 of the Labor Standards Act grants: two units for each of the first fifteen years of service, one for each year after that, capped at forty-five, with a remainder of under six months counting as half a year and six months or more as a full one. The Ministry of Labor does publish its own calculator for this, and these figures were checked against it across 2,932 sets of inputs, which all match; what this page adds is everything that one leaves out. It lists how the units were assembled line by line, marks each of the retirement conditions in Articles 53 and 54 as met or not, and says plainly when the cap has been reached. People who switched to the new scheme can still see what their preserved years are worth, calculated on the wage at retirement rather than at the switch. Birth dates, hire dates and wages never reach the address bar and nothing is stored.
  3. Office Life Calculatorv0.35.0Three things in one release. The mortgage calculator gains a section on interest rates: for the same ten-million, thirty-year loan, five rates from 1.5% to 3.5% are laid out with the monthly payment and the total interest beside each, so going from 2% to 2.5% reads as 2,550 more a month and about 918,000 more in interest. Its FAQ now answers whether personal and car loans can be calculated here, and says plainly what this page cannot do: origination fees, the balloon payment on a residual-value car loan, and grace periods, which only mortgages have. The pension page explains how to read the monthly contribution wage brackets and what voluntary contributions cost as well as save; the labour and health insurance page spells out that the combined table people ask for is really three official bracket tables plus one premium-sharing table; and the 2027 minimum wage article now lists the hourly and monthly figures for both years side by side. Several dead ends in the internal navigation are fixed too, so the three pages the rule-of-72 article links out to now link back.
  4. Office Life Calculatorv0.34.1The severance calculator's section on reporting a layoff used to say that employers in Taipei, New Taipei and Taichung file through their own city system, but the three city names were plain text with nowhere to click. All three are now links to that city's own layoff-reporting page, each of which carries the online system, the paper forms and a Q&A. They deliberately do not point at the certificate login screens: Taichung's online entry sits behind a business certificate, so linking straight to it would show the reader nothing.
  5. Office Life Calculatorv0.34.0The area converter now answers the question at the top of the page: one square metre is 0.3025 ping, and one ping is about 3.3058 square metres. Below it are two lookup tables, twenty common square-metre values converted to ping and eighteen common ping values converted back, so looking up something like fifty ping takes no typing. The FAQ now also covers the question asked the other way round, and explains that 0.3025 is exact while 3.30579 is rounded, so multiplying by 0.3025 by hand matches this page.
