Guide
Need the time for a client in London, or want to know what time 3:00 PM in Chicago is in Tokyo? Choose your cities and this tool does the math. Time zone rules come from your browser, so daylight saving time is handled for each city.
How to use the time zone converter
All four views use the same list of cities. Choose them once, then switch between the views.
- Base time zone: the page starts with the time zone your browser reports. Change it if you are planning for a different place.
- Choose cities: open the list and select the cities you need. New York, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and London are selected by default.
- Now: see the local time, date, and time difference for each city. It updates every minute.
- Full-screen clock: in the Now view, select Full-screen clock to show the cities side by side in large type on a meeting room screen or at a front desk.
- Convert a time: choose a city, enter a date and time there, and see that moment in every other city. Next day and previous day are marked.
- Meeting time: choose a date to see each hour in your base time zone. Each city's working hours are shaded, with default hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours when every city is at work are dark green.
- Daylight saving: choose a year to see when each city changes its clocks and how the time difference changes.

The table was calculated for January 15, 2026 and July 15, 2026 using the time zone data on the computer that built this page. The tool above uses your browser's version of the same database, which may be newer or older.
Daylight saving time dates
Places with daylight saving time move their clocks ahead in spring and back in fall. The dates vary by country.
These are the local clock-change dates in 2026 and 2027, calculated by this tool.
| City | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| New YorkUnited States | March 8 to November 1 | March 14 to November 7 |
| LondonUnited Kingdom | March 29 to October 25 | March 28 to October 31 |
| BerlinGermany | March 29 to October 25 | March 28 to October 31 |
| SydneyAustralia | Ends April 5, starts October 4 | Ends April 4, starts October 3 |
| AucklandNew Zealand | Ends April 5, starts September 27 | Ends April 4, starts September 26 |
In 2026, New York and London are 4 hours apart from March 8 to March 28 and from October 25 to October 31. The rest of the year they are 5 hours apart.
In 2027, New York and London are 4 hours apart from March 14 to March 27 and from October 31 to November 6. The rest of the year they are 5 hours apart.
If you schedule calls between the U.S. and Europe during those weeks, check the time again.
In the Americas, these cities keep the same time all year in 2026: San Juan, Mexico City, Phoenix, Honolulu, São Paulo and Buenos Aires.
Skipped and repeated times
When daylight saving time starts, clocks jump ahead. In New York on March 14, 2027, clocks move from 2:00 AM straight to 3:00 AM.
So 2:30 AM never occurs that day. If you enter it, the tool tells you and uses 3:30 AM instead.
When daylight saving time ends, clocks fall back. In New York on November 7, 2027, clocks go from 2:00 AM back to 1:00 AM.
So 1:30 AM occurs twice that night. The tool asks which one you mean and starts with the first one.
To avoid either case, do not schedule anything in the early morning on a clock-change day.
How to write a meeting time in an email
A few habits can keep people in other time zones from showing up an hour early or late.
- Name the city and UTC offset, like 10:00 AM New York time (UTC-4).
- Give both times side by side, like 10:00 AM in New York and 3:00 PM in London. Then no one has to convert.
- Use the right abbreviation for the season. New York is EST (UTC-5) in winter and EDT (UTC-4) in summer.
- If you are not sure which abbreviation is right, use the city name or UTC offset instead.
How the page finds your time zone
After the page loads, it reads your browser's time zone setting, such as America/Chicago.
If a city in the list uses the same time zone, that city becomes the base. Otherwise, the base is shown as Your time zone, with the time zone name next to it.
Until the page loads, or if JavaScript is turned off, times are shown from New York.
Your time zone stays on your device. It is not sent to us or analytics.
Frequently asked questions
Is the current time accurate?
It comes from the clock on your computer or phone. If your device clock is off, the times here are off by the same amount.
Can I use it for dates in the future?
Yes. Future dates follow the rules your browser knows today. If a country changes its time zone or daylight saving dates, the page reflects the change after your browser updates its time zone data. You can enter dates from 1970 to 2099.
My city is not in the list. What should I pick?
Choose a city with the same time zone and daylight saving dates, like Boston for New York or Seattle for Los Angeles. Watch for places that do not observe daylight saving time. On July 15, 2026, Denver is at UTC-6 and Phoenix is at UTC-7, 1 hour apart.
Can I show it on a meeting room screen?
Yes. Choose your cities, open Now, and select Full-screen clock. The cities fill the screen side by side and update every second. If your browser does not allow full screen, the clock fills the browser window instead. While it is open, browsers that support it keep the screen from going dark.
Do you save my cities or the times I enter?
No. The cities you choose, your time zone, and the times you enter stay in your browser. They are not uploaded, added to the URL, or saved. Reload the page to restore the default cities. Analytics records only which feature you used, how many cities you chose, and how many times you used the page.
Where the numbers come from
Time zone rules come from the IANA time zone database (tz database). Browsers include it, so the tool does not need an outside service.
The tables on this page were calculated from that database for 2026 and 2027.
